I'm Back

A lot of time has past since my last post. Things have been busy around our tiny homestead, with a new baby and now I have a new job. We are just starting to get back to a normal routine. Daucia is still growing like a weed, I swear that she gets bigger every day.

My current project list is probably the smallest list I have ever had. I am working on making new curtains for our little pull behind summer vacation home. Also going to reuphulster the cusions to match the curtains. Since Dauc is growing so fast, as soon as we know it she will be in a big girl bed so I am working on a quilt for her. I am hoping to have it done for her 1st birthday party. I also have a few small projects that I jump in and out of. Of course I make hairbows as the one that Dauc is wearing in the picture below.

I have been asked to be a bridesmaid in my sister in laws wedding that is January 5, I have been helping her come up with ideas for decorating. Not that she needs any help, this wedding is going to be amazing. I am having a blast getting these creative juices flowing. Iam also a bridesmaid in my firend Coleys wedding that will be June 1st 2013. She has not started alot of the planning process yet but I am sure I will put my 2 cents in when that time comes.

Daucia will be 1 in October and it does not seem like I should already be planning a party but I feel like just yesterday I was excited to meet my beautiful baby girl and now she is almost 7 months old. I have been dreaming of a party with bright colors, like twister. There will be alot of balloons and fun games for all the kids and cake of course. I cant wait to see you all there.

Well thats it for me today. Better get back to work.

Happy Friday!!!

Most recent crafts

in anticipation of this little one coming into our lives I can not say that I have been nesting by any means because that is kind of what I do all the time. I have the whole house ready for baby Daucia to grace us with her presents. I have been doing some last minute things for her, like making her baby blanket and some sheets and changing pad covers, but I have also been diligently working on getting the house not only ready for fall but ready for Halloween. I am so excited for Halloween this year, as we will not be able to go out and celebrate like everyother year, we are decorating the yard to be super spooky and hand out candy to the neighborhood kids. (I hope they come) My first Halloween craft of the year is a candy corn wreath that I have been dyeing to make since I saw it on a blog I was recently viewing. It was really easy to make and really cheap too.
and here is the last minute baby blanket I just had to have. It is such a pain in the butt to find purple fabric. FYI

Ready for baby Daucia!

As we only have 27 days left until baby arrives, we find ourselves trying to get some of the projects on our "to do" list complete. Jimmy has been diligently working on getting the brick layed around our deck. I have been outside "helping" him but really I just sit and watch him do the work. I will periodically pick up a brick or two so I don't feel so bad, but he is doing a great job.

While Jimmy works so hard outside in the now kinda cold weather, I have been using all of my days off to finish the nursery. My recent project is one of favorites just for the fact that it turned out perfect and was super easy to make. I cant wait to make many more changing pad covers. The best part is that it cost me around $3.00 to make this and to buy one like it would be in the $15.00 range. WOOOO HOOO

Fashion show gone bad!

A coworker of mine is getting married tonight in Des Moines. The wedding is not one of those events you can just wear a pair of nice jeans and t-shirt, it is a formal event ($25 a plate, why do you think I'm going?). Back in May I purchased 2 maternity dresses for graduation and when I got the invite to the wedding I just planned on wearing one of the 2 dresses that I already had in the closet. Well this was apparently a bad idea.  Jim was helping me pick out my outfit and as always we had a short fashion show, staring ME!  Needless to say the show ended up with Jimmy curled over on the couch hysterically laughing at me while my eyes welled up in tears. The dress was cute on the hanger but when I put it on..........I think the picture speaks for itself.

Thank goodness I only have 6 weeks left because I do not want to go purchase more huge clothes.  Everything in my closet is either not long enough (Walmart Shopper!!) or does not button around my button busting belly.
I now know why pregnant women are so emotional and I wish there were a store that I could just borrow an outfit from and return it tomorrow. But I don't think the "Bulging Belly Rental Store" exists. :(

Nursery

We have been diligently working on getting the nursery ready for baby Daucia. So far we have refinished a dresser that we found free curb side and a crib that was given to us from a friend. I painted some picture frames that I found laying around and I am making alot of the other decorations in the room.

33 Weeks

We are now 33 weeks pregnant! WOOO HOOO! As of today we have 52 days until baby is due, however many of you think little Daucia should grace us with her present a little bit sooner. I HOPE NOT! This would mess with my christmas vacation.

The doctor has told us that since she is getting so big that there is less room for her to move and I should be feeling a decrease in movements. I do not agree. I feel like I have a wave pool in my belly. She is constantly thumping and stretching. I love feeling her move as it makes me know she is OK but I need some sleep. Jim says that my 4AM facebook checks "HAVE TO STOP!"
